An Honest Review of Crumbl Cookies: Are They Worth It?

Is Crumbl really worth the hype?

The widely popular cookie franchise, Crumbl, is taking the U.S. by storm. People all over social media are constantly raving over the yummy treats. The concept of the creative, interesting flavors that change each week is widely appealing. The company has a rotating basis of over 250 flavors and has 3-4 new flavors every week, and a single cookie is around $4 – $5. Not to mention, the cookies always look aesthetically pleasing and always taste en pointe.

Usually, there are 2 flavors that are always there: the thick, ooey-gooey, chocolate chip cookie, and the sweet, soft, pink sugar cookie. Crumbl has put out some interesting combos, like cornbread, strawberry shortcake, almost everything bagel, boston cream pie, galaxy brownie, cookie’s and cream milkshake, dulce de leche, and so many more. The variety each week isn’t always well-received by tasters, but most flavors are usually praised and copycat recipes arise quickly for the most popular cookies.

In the week of March 27 – April 1, we tried the four new flavors of the week: Snickerdoodle Cupcake (a cinnamon sugar cookie topped with cream cheese frosting and an extra dash of cinnamon sugar), S’mores (a graham cracker cookie stuffed with milk chocolate chips, then topped with a toasted marshmallow, a drizzle of chocolate, and a dash of graham cracker crumbs), Peanut Butter Creme Ft. Nutter Butter (an explosion of Nutter Butter® goodness, all brought together with a Nutter Butter® peanut buttercream), and Macadamia Nut (cookie filled with layers of creamy white chocolate chips and buttery macadamia nuts).

The first cookie we tried was the Macademia Nut. For Caroline Williams (‘28), she did think it was good, but just a little bland, which is why she gave it a 5/10. Madeline Johnson (‘28) dislikes Macadamia nuts, so she gave it a 3/10. I didn’t really know how I felt about it, so I gave it a 4/10, since the cookie was fine, but could be more flavorful. I also like milk chocolate better than white chocolate.

Next, we tried the S’mores cookie. I love anything s’mores-related, so I gave it a 10/10. It was exactly how I wanted it to taste. Caroline (‘28) gave it an 8/10, saying that it was great, but s’mores wasn’t really her favorite. Madeline (‘28) said that the cookie was extremely sweet, so she gave it a 6/10.

After that, we tried the Peanut Butter Creme Ft. Nutter Butter cookie. Our opinions may have been biased, because none of us are super big fans of peanut butter. I felt that it was a little powdery, and the peanut butter was overpowering. Caroline (‘28), dislikes peanuts as much as I do, which is why she rated it the same way. Madeline (‘28) said that it felt ‘too sugary and peanut-y’, so we all agreed that it was a 2/10.

The next cookie we tried, the Snickerdoodle, shocked us. I wasn’t expecting it to be so good. I’m normally not a frosting person, but that cream-cheese frosting was amazing. I rated it a 9/10, because the cookie needed more cinnamon. Caroline rated it a 10/10 because she loved the cookie-frosting combo. Madeline said that it reminded her of a cinnamon roll, so she gave it a 7/10.
