Winter Melodies: Celebrating the Season with Heartfelt Harmonies

The Barstow Choir has been working hard for the past few months getting ready for the upcoming Winter Concert. Dr. Josh Markley is the head of the middle and upper school Choir, and he is the one that is running the whole winter concert. He has spent months preparing for the students so that they can be ready to perform in the concert.

“I’m singing in the winter concert this year, and I’m going to be in part three,” David Humphreys said. “For the concert I am going to be wearing concert black; concert black is all black with a pop of color,” said DavidHumphreys.

David is very excited to perform this year because last year he was in the spring concert. “I don’t like part three because part three doesn’t pay enough attention,” David said.  “Even so, for our two main songs, ourgroup has been working really hard while still having fun too.”

The winter concert has been a Barstow tradition for many years, it is loved by the kids and parents alike. This year it’s not just the middle and upper school choirs performing this year, but the faculty choir is pitching in on their part. The winter concert is a tradition that Barstow has been doing for years.

Around halfway through the concert kids from kindergarten to twelfth grade sing The Twelve of Christmas. It’s a fun way for the different grades to interact with each other and the parents love it.

Being in the Choir is a great experience for Barstow students because it exposes them to the musical world. Barstow has a great team for the Winter Concert, with students behind the scenes running the sound and lights.

The Barstow School has been excitedly waiting for the Winter Concert this December. Dr. Markley is really looking forward to seeing his students’ smiling faces while they are on stage.
