The Senior Art Show Displays Student Creativity

As the 2021-2022 school year comes to a close, the senior art show takes center stage in the upper school commons. In the show, senior artists present and sell their work, be it photography, ceramics, paintings, sketches, or anything they can create. The artwork can be sold to anyone, and all profits go to the artist. Barstow’s senior art show has been a major landmark in the school year for years, and is always an exciting experience for artists and spectators alike. In addition to this tradition, Bridget Kukuk, the lower school art teacher here at Barstow, takes her art classes to the show to cultivate their appreciation for art, and possibly inspire them to participate in the art show when they are seniors. They visit the show for a portion of their class time, and are tasked with finding their favorite qualities of the art. This year’s fourth graders went to the art show, and thoroughly enjoyed their time looking at the artwork created by fellow students at Barstow.
