Mr. Drew Petty is a 6th grade math teacher and a 6th grade advisor.

Mr. Drew first accepted a job at The Barstow School in 2022 where he was a substitute teacher. Mr. Drew has learned a lot about slang words like “Sigma” and “Alpha” and he also has learned a lot about his students. He learned how his students like to think and where they go to hang out during break periods. 

Mr. Drew got his undergraduate degree at The University of Nebraska in Lincoln where he majored in psychology.

Mr. Drew has some interesting thoughts on the 2024-25 6th Grade class. Mr. Drew says that so far, the 6th Grade class is a good group of kids that have a very bright future in both sports and academics. Most of the kids in his classes are very athletic and play soccer, football, basketball, and volleyball. 

Mr. Drew has an interesting place that he sees himself ten years from now. Mr. Drew has expressed to me that he would like to say that he sees himself on a beach ten years from now, but in reality, he sees himself still working hard teaching students the subject that he loves, math, but hopefully taking many needed vacations.

Mr. Drew is also the new assistant coach for the middle school soccer team. He’s an empowering coach that helps us strive for greatness.
