Car enthusiasts would never have imagined an SUV from Ferrari. In the wake of successful high-priced, high-performance sports SUVs, the scene is set for the Ferrari Purosangue to take center stage. This defies the company’s past statements that an SUV has no place in their lineup.

According to Car Wow, a comparison site for buying cars, “The Ferrari Purosangue is on the way as the iconic Italian manufacturer’s first SUV, and exclusive new renderings hint at how it may look.”

Pricing is estimated to start at around $350,000 which is more than double the price of the car’s main competitors with the Lamborghini and Aston Martin SUVs sitting comfortably around the $200,000- $250,000 mark. Though risky, high-pricing like this has paid off for sports companies like Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Porsche, and Maserati.

Senior Faizan Khalid had some negative things to say about the estimated pricing of the SUV, “The price tag is certainly disappointing, and I do not know how this will hold for the budget sales after its release. In my opinion, an SUV of this price is outrageous, and I do not think this compares to its competitors like Rolls Royce.”

When the Purosangue goes public, which is expected in late 2022, it will be the first-ever SUV made by Ferrari. There are still many features that are either unknown to be either standard or extra. The public can’t make any predictions, but further information will be released by Ferrari closer to the SUV’s debut date.

Beneath the hood is another mystery, but the Purosangue might have a turbocharged V-8 or a monstrous V-12 engine like Ferrari’s iconic supercars. All-wheel drive is a certain conclusion, and won’t be shocking to see electrification in the form of a hybrid system to keep up with changing environmental mandates, particularly in European markets. In 2014, Ferrari’s LaFerrari hypercar had a 950-hp V-12 hybrid engine. Although the engine schematics for the car are unknown as of now, we do know that it will have to be powerful. The Purosangue rivals the 626-hp Bentley Bentayga powered by a 6.0-liter W12 engine, the 641-hp Lamborghini Urus features an in-house made 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged engine, and the Aston Martin DBX, which is powered by a 542-hp V-8 engine supplied by Mercedes-AMG.

Even if the Purosangue receives a hybrid powertrain, critics don’t anticipate it to be a fuel-efficient leader. Wired.com stated that “Ferrari should carry on with hybrids, but make some that are actually, you know, fuel efficient. That doesn’t mean giving up power.

As far as the interior goes, most of the interior is up to speculations as to there are no concept pictures, but the public should expect a driver-focused layout with a capacity for four adults and a decent-sized cargo capacity. Beautiful leather and genuine carbon-fiber trim will almost certainly cover every inch of the Ferrari SUV’s luxurious interior. More details will undoubtedly emerge in the months leading up to the Purosangue’s debut in 2022.
