Students Work on Black History Month Mural

This very energetic class of sixth graders worked on a mural of ten Black Artists for Black History month. The students each were tasked with coloring in a traced photo of each person. Artists portrayed in the mural: Augusta Savage, Gordon Parks, Selma Burke, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Faith Ringgold, James Van Der Zee, Carrie Mae Weems, Kehinde Wiley, Kara Walker, and Kerry James Marshall.

  • Allison Orozco '23 was part of the B-Line staff from 2021-2023. She previously attended Lawrence Free State High School, and participated in GSA, Barstow’s robotics program, Amnesty International, and Fiction Writers Club at Barstow.
