Spider-Man: No Way Home Trailer Reveals Shocking Coming Events in the MCU

Source: Sony and Marvel Studios

The release of No Way Home on December 17th will mark the end of the Spider-Man trilogy with Tom Holland. The film releases the first day of winter break, providing any Barstow students who are interested with many opportunities to see it. On the day Marvel released the first trailer, views skyrocketed to break the world record for most-watched trailer in 24 hours with 355.5 million views. Since then a second trailer has only added to the anticipation. Many Barstow students saw and discussed the trailers in hallways. The trailers has brought forth discussions for good reason. The new trailer reveals a breakthrough in the multiverse, familiar faces, and appearances from other Spidermen.

Tom Holland, Spider-man, states, “The love and support you guys show for the film is so exciting. Honestly, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. You have no idea what is to come. I’m so excited to share more with you guys, and it feels so good to be back with Spider-Man and showing you trailers, to be having films coming out. This is so exciting.”

The trailer holds major implications for events in the film. With the multiverse open, many familiar faces seen in other Spider-man films will make an appearance in No Way Home. Alfred Molina will play Dr. Octopus, Jamie Foxx will play Electro, and while not confirmed as cast members, Spider-Man Tobey Maguire and Spider-Man Andrew Garfield are expected to make an appearance. This means all Barstow students could be able to see their favorite Spider-Man in the film, even if they aren’t fond of Tom Holland.

All together, No Way Home could include all of the Sinister Six. Doctor Octopus, the Green Goblin, Electro, Sandman, and the Lizard will appear in the film. If the Vulture also makes an appearance, all six may team up for an epic battle to conclude Sony’s trilogy. With Scarlet Witch and Loki already damaging the MCU timeline, No Way Home will certainly have an extraordinary effect on the timeline as it stands.

At the end of Far From Home, Mysterio reveals Spider-Man’s identity and frames Peter for his death. The trailer for No Way Home picks up where the movie ended. The public, police, and government berate Peter and blame him for Mysterio’s death. As a result, Peter approaches Doctor Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, and asks him to cast a spell that will make the world forget his identity. While Doctor Strange casts the spell, Peter realizes he has made a mistake. The spell goes horribly wrong, and the multiverse is torn open.

Although Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield have not been confirmed as cast members for No Way Home, there have been many hints as to their possible appearance in the film. In the trailer, the multiverse is torn open, which makes other Spider-Men entering the film likely since crossovers between Spider-Man occur frequently in the multiverse. J.B. Smoove, an actor in Homecoming and Far From Home, when asked which Spider-Man he was most excited to see in the film, stated “Maguire, of course, man.” Also, Doc Ock doesn’t know Tom Holland as Spider-Man, so Tobey Maguire is more than likely to play a Spider-Man in No Way Home. Many Spider-Man fans at Barstow speculate Maguire and Garfield will appear in the movie.

As the last film in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man trilogy, No Way Home is sure to have a lasting impact on Marvel fans. Between new villains from the comics, piecing the timeline together, and multiple Spider-Men in one film, one can expect a great shock with the release of the film. No Way Home could also reveal which of the Avengers will work to fix the timeline. After the shock of Wandavision and Loki, it will be interesting to see the effect the film has. Without a doubt, many Barstow students will take time during winter break to see the new film. With all of the previewed components, No Way Home will change the way we look at Phase 4 and Marvel at Barstow.
