What do students really think about school lunch?
With the school year starting everyone looks forward to a long break in the middle of the day. Every weekday most Barstow students eat cafeteria lunch, but what do they really think about it?
“Lunch is my favorite time of the day,” says Clara George.
Clara George says her favorite food is breakfast potatoes and her least favorite is the pasta days because her egg allergy limits her options.
Harrison Fink says his favorite food Barstow makes are the breadsticks and curly fries. He said his least favorite was when Barstow tried to make sushi because it was “soggy” and didn’t contain fish.
Meera Abu Bakr says her favorite food Barstow makes is their noodles and her least favorite is the pasta because it’s prepared plainly to cater to all tastes.
Do students enjoy Barstow’s drinks?
This seems to depend not just on the student, but also on where in the lunch period it is. Clara likes the drinks, but Harrison says they’re often watered down once the ice begins to melt.
The desserts may be the most popular part of lunch. Clara says her favorite dessert is either the ice cream or the peach cobbler, but Meera says the ice cream is definitely her top choice. Harrison said his favorite is the sugar cookies because they are soft and chewy.
Students’ favorite time of day is lunch. They can enjoy a variety of nutritious meals and drinks. The break gives you time to take a break from the stress school can cause.
