This year, Barstow basketball faced off against Summit Christian Academy for Homecoming. After the C-Team game, the boys JV team took over the Varsity gym to play the Eagles led by Coach AJ and Coach Rob. The team and the crowd had great energy throughout the entire game, and despite the loss, the boys set the tone for the evening. Check below to see photos from their game!

The cheer team did a fantastic job keeping the crowd engaged throughout Homecoming night. They collaborated with the student hype band during breaks between quarters to cheer to Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger” and put on a special performance during halftime of the girls varsity game! Barstow’s Knight Stars also had a fantastic performance, as per usual. Find photos of both groups and other miscellaneous ones below!

Girls varsity shined on Homecoming night. Led by Coach Rodney Gilyard and Coach Sarah, Alex Dean ’26, Amillia Prochnow ’27, Talia Dreher ’27, Zeniyah Cooper ’27, Addi Huff ’28, and Naeema Banday ’28 gave it their all to add a win to their 5-7 record on one of the biggest nights of the season, and added to their winning streak. Considering everything the team has overcome so far this season, including coping with a six-person roster, the girls have every reason to celebrate the win. The Barstow community looks forward to supporting them through the end of their season and watching what else they can accomplish!

Following the girls’ win over, it was time for the boys varsity team to battle it out with the Eagles under the guidance of Head Coach BJ Watson and Coach Neil Watson. Barstow’s student section tried their best to fuel them to the win, but they unfortunately came up short. Despite this, the boys worked hard to show the community that they can be competitive with other big-name schools in the Crossroads Conference. During halftime, Homecoming representatives and senior Homecoming court members walked the red carpet in front of their peers. Seniors Alina Stribling and Cale Williams were crowned Homecoming King and Queen by Barstow alums Ellen Schuch Edgar ’05 and David Franz ’05!

This is Betsi Waldeck's first year on the B-Line staff. She has been at Barstow for eleven years, and is part of the fourth generation in her family to attend this school. She's married, has two dogs, five horses, and a younger brother. Outside of writing articles for B-Line, you'll probably find her consumed by a book, taking photos, or riding her horses. She is happy to get to share her thoughts with you this year, and wants to thank you for reading B-Line!
