On January 17th, the girls swim team took the bus to Blue Springs South High School, located 40 minutes east of Barstow. Once the team changed and claimed an area for their belongings, they had a 30 minute warmup period, where swimmers practiced their strokes, turns, and starts.

Soon after, the swimmers took to the water starting with the 200 yd x 4 medley relay. Each of the four swimmers swam one leg of backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and freestyle respectively.

Next, swimmers participated in their individual competitions. For example, junior Izzy Parr swam the 100 yd freestyle, where she earned her personal best, 1:20.97. Sydney Georgie also established a personal best in her 50 yd. Freestyle, where she swam a rapid :27 second race.

Freshman Sonya Shkuta ‘26 swam a 1:13 100 yd. freestyle as well, while Cam Westphal, Alexandra Hunyh, and Ava Adams Huang participated in 100 yd. Breaststroke, backstroke, and freestyle respectively.
