Students who are worrying about what elective to choose need look no further than this. If you are interested in art as a career, or if you just want to try it out for fun, digital art is the best elective for you. The people who are in digital art this year are having fun making masterpieces in Room 207 (Ms. Amanda Lea’s room). Whether you’ve never done art before or are already as good as Van Goh, you can do digital art without judgment.
Digital art is an extremely fun elective, but the atmosphere is not overwhelming in any way. Gia Khan says, “It’s really relaxing, and it’s just a calm environment.” That is only one of the many reasons that make digital art great. Some electives can be too fast paced for some people, but digital art is not like that at all. Not that it is slow and boring, but it is basically at a happy medium
Digital art offers lots of ways to draw with different media. Keira Cullan says, “Digital art is where we draw on our iPads and we also do some projects on paper as well.” If you want to get a taste of drawing on iPads and paper, digital art fits that description.
Even if you do not have any experience at all with art, if you have not even looked at it, you can still do digital art and start from the ground up. With Ms. Lea teaching, you will learn quickly. Keira and Gia both agree that Ms. Lea is a great teacher who is very nice. Keira Cullan says, “I really like to draw.” She also said, “I chose digital art to improve my art skills.” That is a very good reason to do digital art because Ms. Lea can help you with whatever you need.
When asked why she chose digital art for an elective, Gia Khan said, “I just love to draw lots of the time, and I wanted to learn how to draw digitally.” Doing digital art is a good learning experience. It is great to have one of the arts as a hobby because you can get creative. Another good reason to do digital art is because you can pretty much do it anywhere and you do not need a lot of supplies. You can draw anything you want to and let your imagination run free.
The digital art elective is a great way to get creative and improve your skills. If you are interested in art, digital art should be at the top of your elective choices next year. Prior art classes or skills are not needed, and it is just a great way to unwind during the school day with the hustle and bustle of other classes. Whether you are looking to be the next Picasso, or just wanting a new hobby, digital art is perfect.
