In a decisive win against the Buffalo Bills, the Chiefs are heading to the Super Bowl once again. On January 24th the Chiefs won the American Football Conference (AFC) Championship after a nail-biting postseason.
The win means that the Chiefs will compete against the National Football Conference (NFC) champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV. The 2021 Super Bowl is the 55th annual championship game that pits the number one teams from the AFC and the NFC.
Super Bowl LV will be on Sunday, February 7, 2021 and held at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Florida. A televised version of the game will be nationwide on CBS. ESPN predicts that the Chiefs have a 52.1% chance of winning.
Known for its ridiculous commercials and stunning halftime performances, the Super Bowl is the fourth largest sporting event in the world. Last year, the game had 100 million viewers worldwide, and a thirty-second commercial cost a corporation, on average, 5 million dollars. The Super Bowl also hosts a popular artist to perform during halftime, and this year, the Weeknd will perform.
Although American life looks a lot different than it did last year, during Super Bowl LV, families can still safely enjoy a staple of American tradition.
