The Middle School girls soccer team is back and ready for another amazing season! This year the girls are ready to take on the season with another great streak. Most girls on the team feel like Pembroke is the team to beat this year.
“Pembroke will be our biggest rival again this year because they are the number one team and we have beaten every school except Pembroke,” said Payton Ryan ’27. Last year the girls were close to beating Pembroke in the championship game. The girls lost 0-2.
While also being excited for the new season the girls are sad because it will be their last year playing with their 8th grade friends Ryan ’27 & Caroline Simpson ‘27.
Ryan ’27 has been playing soccer all throughout middle school. Ryan ’27 started playing soccer in the 6th grade and hasn’t stopped playing since then. She plays center back and loves it. Ryan ’27 is going to miss playing with her favorite 7th and 6th graders hoping to join the high school team next year. There is no doubt Ryan ’27 will be missed on the middle school girls soccer team.
Simpson ’27 plays center forward in soccer. Simpson ’27 is one of the fastest on the team and always ready to play. She is the cheerleader on the team ready to hype them up before the games. Simpson ’27 has been playing soccer ever since the 2nd grade with her sister Lilly Simpson and she hasn’t stopped since. The thing that Simpson ’27 is most excited for this season is seeing new talent.
“I am so ready for this season mostly to see new talent,’’ said Simpson ‘27. Simpson ’27 will be missed on the middle school girls soccer team.
The Middle School girls first soccer game is on April 3rd against Lee Summit Christian at 4:30pm here at Barstow. The rest of the girls games are on My Barstow. Make sure to come cheer the girls on during their season and wish them good luck!
