Barstow Basketball Plays KIPP Legacy HS

After a long winter break, the Barstow Boys Basketball team played KIPP Legacy High School in a competitive home game, falling just short of the win.

“I think the game was one we thought we would win from the start, and because of that attitude we weren’t willing to do the gritty things we needed to do in order to win,” said varsity player Alex Franklin (‘24). “I think the team work was good and the effort was there, but it just came down to a lack of focus.”

The match started off well, with KIPP Legacy and Barstow switching off for the lead. This pattern continued well through the first quarter, and for a good portion of the game. However, KIPP Legacy ended up edging forward, resulting in an extremely close game, but a loss for the Knights. The final score was 51-53, with KIPP Legacy coming out just slightly on top.
