Ms. Carson Ferren is a favorite teacher shared by many, which is unsurprising given she has extremely fun activities planned for every class.

There are a lot of students who don’t know about Ms. Ferren. Ms. Ferren is the oldest of five siblings. Ms. Ferren was born in Overland Park Kansas and grew up there. Ms. Ferren’s favorite color is purple.

She has taught for seven years, but not just at Barstow. “I have really loved being able to show everyone  how all different types of regions, cultures, religions and how everything connects together,” says Ms. Ferren

 Growing up, Ms. Ferrens favorite topic in school was the World Wars because she really liked the conflict and the experience. “What peaked my interest when I was in school was when we were learning about World War I and World War II,” she says. 

Ms. Ferren teaches world studies, which is geography, history, and social studies. Ms. Ferren enjoys teaching middle schoolers because that is how she started her Career.  Ms. Ferren has also taught in lower school. The grades that Ms. Ferren currently teaches sixth and seventh grade, but she has taught fourth grade too.

Ms. Ferren enjoys outdoor activities, like biking, hiking, fishing, and camping. “My favorite sport is baseball,” she adds. 

The teacher that made Ms. Ferren want to be a teacher was her first grade teacher. That same teacher showed up to Ms. Ferrens graduation!

In general Ms. Ferren is an amazing teacher and makes students feel heard. Ms. Ferren makes sure students don’t feel stressed.
