On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, Hurricane Milton made its destructive landfall in Florida, unleashing winds of up to 140 miles per hour and heavy rainfall that resulted in alarming widespread flooding. This unpredicted natural disaster left a trail of devastation throughout its path, tearing through communities and leaving them in disarray. The impact of Hurricane Milton was felt throughout the region, highlighting the urgent need for support and recovery efforts as the affected areas began a long process of rebuilding. Hurricane Milton left a lasting impact on all who crossed its path. This catastrophic event serves as a stark reminder of the destructive power of nature and the importance of being prepared for such disasters. 

Mrs. Buckner says that hurricane Milton had made her “aware of other people’s needs.” She also touches on local markets like Walmart and how they help their employees stuck in the hurricane. Even if they can’t get to work, they will still get paid.

Eden Groebl (2030) mentions that “some people can’t evacuate because most of the highways were fully closed off so it was just really scary.”
