Boys Basketball defeats Summit Christian Academy by double-digits.
On January 17, following their previous win against St. Pius X, Barstow’s Boys Basketball Team took on Summit Christian in a competitive home game, winning 67- 46.
“We didn’t necessarily examine what Summit Christian could do on both sides of the court, but instead focused on what we could do on defense and offense,” said Varsity power forward Alex Franklin (‘24).
From the risky 3-pointers to the seemingly impossible layups, the basketball team kept the crowd on their feet. By halftime, your Knights had secured a solid lead over Summit Christian, with a leading score of 40-19.
Following half-time, Barstow kept their lead over Summit Christian, and the crowd kept up with the cheering. Franklin highlights the student section, saying “the student body shows up to every home game we have, and even to most away games,” and he goes on to specify that “the sophomores and seniors specifically show out the most.” In other words, freshmen and juniors: step up your game!
The Knights closed out the 3rd quarter with a score of 58-29, and eventually ended the game with a 21-point lead over Summit Christian, and a score of 67-46. While the team maintains its winning record, make sure you come out and support them!
